Fox Crossing Stringband
Fox Crossing Stringband, Chicago’s all-female bluegrass band, has been winning hearts with their beautiful harmonies, original songwriting, and entertaining stage presence since forming in November 2016. Four women seamlessly trade lead and harmony vocals while featuring six instruments – Despina Pafralides plays mandolin and fiddle, Cassie Lynn Wright plays dobro and banjo – combined with the powerful rhythm of Allison Branch on guitar and Beth Earl on bass.
Following their debut at Winter Roots in February 2017, they have performed at numerous festivals and shows across the Midwest and Texas. Festival performances include IBMA award-winning Frankfort Bluegrass, John Hartford Memorial, Summer Stomp, WanderDown, Shoefest, Ladies of Bluegrass, American Music Festival, and more. The band has performed on WGNTV Morning show, WGN Radio, and notable venues including Fitzgerald’s, Evanston SPACE, Navy Pier and City Winery Chicago. In February 2019, they released their first full-length studio album “Box of Memories,” and they will release their second album in fall 2022. These foxes carry a powerful blend of strength, sass, and bluegrass wherever they go.
